St. Thomas · next shipment arrives mid-December

The last battery backup you buy for ten years.

Lead-acid backups wear out here in about two years. This one is lithium iron phosphate, rated for a 10-year battery life, and we have run ten of them at a St. Thomas resort for six months without a single problem. Quantity on each shipment is limited and reservations are filled in the order they arrive.

A 10-year battery. Buy it once.

Every UPS you have owned on St. Thomas probably died the same way. The power flickered a few hundred times, the lead-acid battery inside gave up, and about two years in the box beeped at you until you threw it out.

This unit uses a lithium iron phosphate battery rated for 3,000+ charge cycles and a 10-year service life. That is the same battery chemistry going into solar storage and electric buses, built to be drained and recharged every day for a decade. On island power, that is the difference between a backup you replace every other year and one you install and forget.

  • 3,000+ cycles versus a few hundred for lead-acid
  • No battery swaps and no dead-battery disposal runs
  • Holds up in heat, which is what kills lead-acid here
  • Lighter: about 10.5 lb for the whole unit

Tested on St. Thomas power

Ten units. Six months. Every recent outage. Zero problems.

Before we offered a single one for sale, we put ten of these to work at a local resort, on the same WAPA feed everyone else is living with. They rode through every outage and brownout of the last six months, carried the loads they were given, and never once needed attention. That is why we are comfortable putting our own name behind them.

What it keeps running

1000 VA / 600 W, eight outlets, every one of them on battery. Pure sine wave output, so sensitive electronics see clean power, and a transfer of 20 ms or less, so they never notice the switch.

  • Internet and Wi-Fi. A modem and router draw very little, so they stay up for a long time, long enough to keep working, keep the cameras streaming, and keep the phones on Wi-Fi calling.
  • Point of sale. The terminal, the printer, and the card reader finish the transaction instead of losing it.
  • Computers and NAS. Enough time to save and shut down cleanly, or to keep working through the short drops that happen several times a day.
  • Brownouts, not just blackouts. The input window is 90 to 140 V. When the voltage sags, the unit covers it. The front display shows you exactly what the line is doing.

4 years of coverage

Backed twice. By GoldenMate, and by us.

Every unit carries GoldenMate’s 2-year manufacturer warranty. On top of that, Third M Ventures adds another 2 years of our own. If something goes wrong in the first 4 years, you deal with us, here on St. Thomas, not with a shipping label to the mainland.

Manufacturer warranty terms are published by GoldenMate. Our additional coverage is provided by Third M Ventures.

How a reservation works

  1. Reserve now. No payment. Tell us how many units you want and how to reach you. It takes about a minute.
  2. We hold your place in line. Units are assigned in the order reservations come in. When yours is on an arriving shipment, we text or email you with the pickup date.
  3. Pay and pick up on St. Thomas. $499 per unit when you collect it. Nothing is charged until then.

The next shipment arrives mid-December, with another every month after that, sized to the reservations on the list. If you want to be on the next one, reserve now rather than later.
